Villa Jatica is located in the Southern Dalmatia, on the slopes of Biokovo Mountain. Perched on the heights above the village of Zaostrog, the villa offers fantastic view of the Adriatic Sea, the tip of Pelješac peninsula, and the islands of Korčula and Hvar. It is a perfect quiet getaway to leave the world behind and truly unwind in wilderness and natural beauty of this remote destination, yet to pamper yourself in complete comfort and luxury the house offers.
If you feel like sightseeing, you can choose from a number of exciting places whether you decide to drive up north towards the town of Split or down south towards the town of Dubrovnik. If you choose to visit Split, you will pass through beautiful small coastal places, as well as the town of Makarska and Omiš, both well worth of sightseeing. Also, you can visit the sunniest island of Hvar since ferry port Drvenik is merely several minutes drive from Zaostrog.
If you choose to go south, after a short drive you will reach the ferry port Ploče, connecting the mainland with the tip of Pelješac peninsula. Well-known for its wine and vineyards, especially one of the best and most intriguing Croatian wine sort Plavac Mali, Pelješac peninsula is certainly a Southern Dalmatian attraction.
You can also visit the town of Ston, famous for the remnants of medieval defensive walls, a historical monument of distant past often called "the European Walls of China," winding for 5 kilometres all the way to Mali Ston, a village famous for its seashell cuisine, especially oysters and mussels. A trip to the south will bring you to the town of Dubrovnik, certainly the most famous Croatian spot on global scale, as well as UNESCO World Heritage Site.

With its spectacular views of the sea and islands, the mountain and blue Mediterranean skies, this newly renovated house is a combination of traditional Dalmatian architecture and modern interventions, built with respect for and appreciation of the tradition, thus resulting in a new construction having that charming old Dalmatian feel. The exterior stones in warm light beige tone and blue window shutters are in complete harmony with the blue sea, rocky mountain and the surrounding Mediterranean vegetation.
This delightful house (120 m 2 of interior + over 200 m 2 of roofed and sunny terraces, outdoor dining and pool areas) with complex and yet inspiring arrangement, determined by the imperative of the terrain, offers luxury at its best on several levels. Inside the house there are two levels - few stairs above the level of entrance there is an open space including the kitchen, dinning and living room area with access to a large balcony, while the ground floor accommodates sleeping area with bathroom and two toilets. The area around the house offers swimming pool, roofed and sunny terraces, lounge area, outside toilet and outdoor shower, garden with culinary herbs, outdoor kitchen with masonry barbecue and tavern with a small kitchen, large fridge and an additional dishwasher for the outside dining area.
The exterior extends on three levels. The swimming pool (4.5x7.5m) with endless view is accompanied by a roofed terrace and lounges, as well as two swings.
The sunny terrace or pool lounge with open fireplace table is on the level below, and in deep shade, beneath the house, there is an unexpected jewel - fully equipped outdoor kitchen with dining table made of stone seating 12 people, small garden with culinary herbs, large stone masonry barbecue and even more, a tavern having fully equipped kitchenette with dishwasher, double fridge with ice maker and dining table seating 8 people.
The entire section of the outdoor kitchen is roofed, therefore protected from the midday sunlight and an excellent choice for dining outside.

The interior of the house is all new and contemporary, with carefully chosen furniture and unobtrusive colours. The open plan upper floor with kitchen, dining room, and living room is spacious and with its four French windows offering wonderful views of the sea, the entire section is full of light throughout the day.
In the kitchen, one will find all the necessary appliances and gadgets needed for a home cooked meal. The dining section has a table that seats 6 people, and its abundant daylight comes through a glass wall that leads to the balcony facing west, equipped with beautiful comfortable lounges for relaxation in the setting sun.
There is absolute formative minimalism throughout the house, not to disturb the beauty of the very construction. Thus, all the installations, from stone washbasin to glass shelves, carefully chosen lighting or flooring, custom made dining table or wardrobes are all the result of contemplation with aim to provide luxury and at the same time not impose any overwhelming contents on your holidays.
The lower floor accommodates three bedrooms: one double master bedroom and two single bedrooms (with extra bed available in each), bathroom and two toilettes. Furniture is custom made and charming, enabling sufficient space for belongings. The master bedroom has direct access to the terrace and swimming pool, a lovely detail for your pleasure!
Since the population mainly lives from farming and agriculture (apart from tourism), you will find an exquisite offer of traditionally prepared Dalmatian dishes, which includes fish and seafood from the day's catch, fresh meat from local farms, and home grown vegetables.
You should not miss the restaurant
Galeb a family owned business offering the finest quality produce prepared in traditional style, with the best black risotto with cuttlefish and red prawn risotto in the region, prepared by old traditional receipt. Certainly do not miss their best chocolate walnut cake! There you will taste only daily offer of the fish hooked early in the morning, and the vegetables from their garden. There is also possibility for our guests to be provided with catering from the restaurant "Galeb" if you do not feel like cooking on your holidays or leaving your gorgeous Villa Jatica.
For those who like to explore new places through local offer of food, there is a multitude of delightful taverns, restaurants and wine cellars offering local specialties, beautiful light and healthy Dalmatian meals, part of Mediterranean cuisine. For meat lovers, there is also an excellent offer of grilled highest quality meats from local farms. We can recommend a few spots in the vicinity we hope will be to your taste.
